    Some of Vancouver’s most popular attractions are making it easier for the community to enjoy their collections and exhibitions with free admission on select dates and times, along with Pay-What-You-Can options.

    Bill Reid Gallery of Northwest Coast Art

    The gallery celebrates the extraordinary diversity of contemporary Indigenous Northwest Coast Art and is the only public Gallery in Canada dedicated to the Northwest Coast.

    • Free admission from 2:00pm to 5:00pm every first Friday of the month thanks to Community Access Partner Downtown Van.

    Vancouver Art Gallery

    Founded in 1931, the Vancouver Art Gallery is recognized as one of North America’s most innovative visual arts institutions. The gallery’s celebrated exhibitions, extensive public programs and emphasis on advancing scholarship all focus on historical and contemporary art from British Columbia and around the world. 

    • Admission is free on the first Friday of every month from 4:00pm to 8:00pm, presented by BMO. Reserve a spot online in advance to guarantee entry into the Gallery.
    • Admission is also always free for guests under 18.

    Starry Nights at SFU Burnaby

    Everyone is welcome to the free Starry Nights Party on the last Friday of the month at the Trottier Observatory at SFU Burnaby. These events are designed to be inclusive and accessible to everyone, regardless of prior knowledge or equipment. Volunteers will guide you on a celestial journey, unveiling the wonders visible to the naked eye.

    Vancouver Maritime Museum

    From their unique waterfront location, the museum programs focus on life on and around the Pacific Northwest and Arctic oceans. Their most popular exhibition is the RCMP Vessel St. Roch, a National Historic Site housed in an iconic mid-century modern A-frame shelter.

    Museum of Anthropology

    Visit on Thursday evenings after 5:00pm for half-price admission. The museum will be open until 9:00pm.
