We love bookstores, and we love free events, so naturally, we’re big fans of this combo! The UBC Bookstore is a great place to pick up textbooks and campus essentials, but it’s also home to plenty of free events where you can connect, learn something new, and have a little fun at this campus hub.
Free Events at the UBC Bookstore
Opus Art Supplies will be hosting mini-workshop series, featuring Opus materials, led by mixed-media artist Jess Craig every Thursday from August 13 to September 24, 2026. Information on how to sign up can be found on the bookstore’s Instagram account.

Another free event series at the bookstore is their Kids Story Time, which takes place on the last Friday of each month. All are welcome to enjoy this family event, and there is no registration is required. Arrive early for free coffee and hot chocolate from The Corner Store, then settle in for Kids’ Story Time in our children’s book area.
