We love days out where cost doesn’t count. And while our new book is jam-packed with great things to do in our region that won’t cost you a penny, we are also delighted to see that the popular Canada Strong Pass has returned for 2026.

Running from June 19 to September 7 this time around, the countrywide program provides free or discounted admission to museums, historic sites, national parks and more. Available to Canadians as well as international visitors, all you have to do is show up to gain your gratis admission––there’s no physical or digital pass to apply for or deal with.
For more information on the Canada Strong Pass––including additional savings on VIA Rail and Parks Canada overnight stays––visit its dedicated Government of Canada webpage. And to get you started, we’ve rounded up some of the attractions you can enjoy in the Lower Mainland and around B.C. for free until September 7 under this year’s program:
- Gulf of Georgia Cannery National Historic Site
- Fort Langley National Historic Site
- Fort Rodd Hill & Fisgard Lighthouse National Historic Sites
- Fort St. James National Historic Site
