Free Summer Fun in Langley, BC

    Summer in Langley City means live music, Shakespeare in the park, and juicy berries from the farmers’ market. We’ve picked out a selection of free experiences to savour throughout June, July, and August:

    1. Langley Community Farmers Market – Sun-ripened berries, live music, and food trucks headline the Langley Community Farmers Market, where free concerts and more than 30 farmers turn ordinary days into a summer ritual.  
      • Wednesdays, 5:30pm – 8:30pm in Douglas Park from June 10 – August 26
    2. The Neighbourhood Festival – Douglas Park transforms into a free, all-ages play space with obstacle courses, mini golf, and a zipline, as well as a dedicated sensory-friendly area.
      • June 13th from 11am – 7pm in Douglas Park
    3. National Indigenous Peoples Day – Hosted by the Lower Fraser Valley Aboriginal Society, this community celebration features cultural performances, Indigenous vendors, and a BBQ with bannock in the heart of the city. 
      • June 21st from 11am – 3pm in Douglas Park 
    4. McBurney Plaza Summer Concert Series – Every Tuesday in July, McBurney Plaza comes alive with live concerts featuring an eclectic lineup of musicians beneath a stunning aerial umbrella display, along with delicious treats and exciting giveaways.
      • July 7, 14, 21, 28 | 6pm – 8pm | McBurney Plaza
    5. Bard in the Valley – Bard in the Valley brings Henry IVPersephone and Something Rotten! Jr. to Langley City, inviting audiences to experience open-air theatre against a Fraser Valley backdrop. 
      • Multiple dates in July in Douglas Park 
    6. Langley Pride Day – A celebration of inclusion and resilience, Langley Pride Day features a jam-packed itinerary of drag bingo, musical performances, and a 19+ concert with local bands Disaster in a Dress and The Unbranded. 
      • August 8th 12pm – 4pm (concert starts at 6pm) at Creekside Hall
    7. Arts Alive Festival  – Celebrating its 30th anniversary, Arts Alive transforms downtown into a vibrant plein-air festival featuring more than 200 visual and performing artists, interactive installations and demonstrations, live music throughout the day, artisan vendors, and family-friendly entertainment. 
      • August 15th 10am – 5pm | Fraser Highway One-Way (between 204 and 206 streets downtown)
    8. Heritage Classic Car Show – The longest-running Jaguar-MG car show in North America rolls into Douglas Park with polished British classics, vintage motorcycles, and restored vehicles from across the region. 
      • August 23rd 10am – 3:30pm in Douglas Park
    9.  The Downtown Langley Mural Walk – Downtown Langley’s Mural Walk features more than 25 murals tucked between alleyways and splashed across buildings, turning an afternoon stroll into a self-guided gallery experience.
